Santander is working to support Chile

Santander is one of the largest Banks in the World. In Chile, we are the leading Bank, with nearly one in four people choosing to Bank with us.

Santander has 498 branches, and nearly 12,000 employees in the country. For our customers, employees and of course for all people in Chile we are keen to assist in the relief efforts following the devastating earthquake.

To help the country, and our customers, we have announced a number of initiatives, including
3.2 billion dollars in new lines of credit made available to Businesses and individual customers under special conditions.

And in the affected regions:

• 600 million dollars of special credit facilities offering preferential conditions.
• Automatic deferral of payment dates by up to 6 months in the affected area for customer loans and mortgages.
• No fees on credit cards for 90 days.
• Refinancing schemes with a term of up to 96 months.
• Cash-back on purchases made using the Bank’s credit cards at chemists, health centres and hardware shops.

We are keen to play our part in helping to rebuild the country, and are actively working to find additional ways to help.
